Violence and Harassment in the Workplace

This is a MANDATORY training program for all workers in Ontario. Participants will learn how to recognize, assess, and minimize the threat of violence and harassment in the workplace. Everyone should be able to work in a safe and healthy workplace.

This training is only offered in a New Worker Essentials package which includes: WHMIS/GHS, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Violence & Harassment in the Workplace, Accessibility Training and New Worker Awareness.

Course Content

This course includes a classroom component. Participants will receive training and be evaluated on the following topics:

● Legislation
● Worker rights
● Duties of workers, supervisors and employers
● Bill 168
● Types of violence and harassment
● Procedures
● Warning signs
● Risk factors

*Travel fees may apply.

The Occupational Health and Safety Act sets out roles and responsibilities of workplace parties with respect to workplace violence and workplace harassment, including developing and implementing policies and programs and providing information and instruction on these.
